A Direct Access service for adults with bladder or bowel continence problems.


A Chartered Physiotherapist, Nurse Consultant/ Nurse Specialist will be available to speak on a confidential line, discuss the probles and give advice, or refer on to the appropriate discipline.  An appointment may be offered to a same day clinic, if this is felt necesarry.


The line is open on Friday afternoons 1-2pm (Excluding bank holidays).  In exceptional circumstances due to staff training or ill health this service may be unavailable.

Cornwall Dyslexia Association

The CDA provides information, advice and support for dyslexics and their families. 

We run courses for parents to help them better understand and support their dyslexic children. 

We run dyslexic awareness workshops for businesses, statutory bodies, job agencies etc. 

We have a centre in Truro giving advice and guidance and providing screening and assesments.  Please contact us if you would like to become a member.  Cost is only £10 per year and you will get regular newsletters with events, talks and childrens activities.

Helston & District Footpath Society

Details:

All walks are circular, approximately 5 miles in length.  Sunday afternoons throughout the year.
Medium paced.  All walks may cross muddy or rough land so suitable footwear should be worn.  There will be rough ground and stiles. It is recommended that water and a snack be carried, as well as a small first aid kit and secateurs.
Dogs are welcome on most walks, but please check with the walk leader.  Please keep dogs on leads at all times.


Visitor and new walkers welcome on all walks.

Helston & District U3A

Helston & District U3A ( University of the Third Age) is like no other university; for one thing it is run by it's members and the emphasis is on fun and enjoyment.  The U3A is the largest organisation of its kind in the world and it provides educational, recreational and social facilites for people living in the Helston & District area.


Helston & District U3A has on offer thirty different activities and they include wining and dining, theatre trips, residential trips abraod, art and singing, handicrafts, book clubs, creative writing and languages.  For the more active there are rambling and ambling, table tennis, carpet bowls and outdoor bowls too.


There is a monthly social meeting held in the Methodist Chapel and Hall every third Wednesday of the month from 10am.
